Abstract art by Robin Burgin and Kerry Riche on display at Poway Center for the Performing Arts. 'Immersive Places' exhibit to continue through Sept. 28.
Burgin states, her art essentially reflects who she is, her own experiences and the people she’s met. She said she hopes people who visit “Immersive Places” notice what feelings, emotions, sensations or memories come up when they’re viewing the artwork.
“As humans we’re taking in sensory information all the time and trauma, stress or overwhelm create sensory imprints on the body that affect how we interact with each other and the world around us,” she said. “It is fascinating how we can be looking at the same piece of art and have two very different experiences. Neither perception is wrong because our unique perceptions are a testament and tribute to who we are and of the places and experiences that have been imprinted within.”
